How to Become a Fisher of Men

3. When did Peter become a “fisher of men”?

6. Difference between following Jesus to “observe His activity” and following Him as Lord like Paul knew Him in Galatians 2:20 and Philippians 3:10.

c) Billy G. – trail in CA two weeks before LA crusade – ’49; “preach the Bible as your Word.”
9. 5 Verses to describe “disciple”
Jn. 8:31 – “If you abide in my word, you are really my disciples.”
Jn. 13:35 – “By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you love one another .”
Jn. 15:8 – “This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.”
Lk. 14:33 – “…any of you who does not give up everything he has, cannot be my disciple.”
Mt. 16:24 –“If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up the cross and follow me.”
10. “I will make you…” – not to force you, but will create in you the desire to be a “fisher of men” as a direct result of “following”, you will become a “fisher of men.”
11. “Fishers of Men” – what about layman?
a) Personal evangelism – “cafeteria style” Christian life
b) Involvement in evangelistic church
c) Passion for the lost in the world will make you have a “world-view”.

12. If you are following Jesus, you will be a Fisher of Men.
If you are not following Jesus, you will not be a Fisher of Men.
If you are not fishing for men, you are not following Jesus.
